Mentoring
In this optional mentoring component, faculty members will provide individualised research and writing support to mentees, with the goal of submitting a high-quality manuscript to a reputable academic journal. Mentees will receive support over a 6-month period. There will be a maximum of two application calls for this component within one calendar year.

You can apply to become a mentee if you:
Are enrolled in at least the second year of your Ph.D. in an African university;
Major in transport or urban studies;
Have completed the taught component of this course and had an average score of 80 percent or more across all 6 quizzes;
Have a basic draft or a well-developed idea for an academic paper.
We are constantly looking to expand our pool of mentors. You can apply to become a mentor if you:
Have a Ph.D. in urban studies, transport/mobility studies, development studies, geography, sociology or related disciplines;
Are affiliated with a university in Africa or conduct research primarily in African contexts;
Have experience supervising students at the Ph.D. level;
Are willing to contribute to the development of African scholars on a voluntary basis.
